Inspired by Saul Leiter

Saul Leiter understood that steamy windows offered a unique lens through which to view the world. The diffused light, distorted shapes, and obscured details added layers of emotion and storytelling to his photographs. By incorporating these elements, he elevated ordinary scenes into evocative visual narratives, creating a timeless legacy that continues to inspire photographers to this day.

Captured on the Fuji XT30 with a Fuji XF 35mm, f/2 lens at a local cafe with a steamy window that looks onto a busy street. The ISO 500 balances light and raindrop play. The F/2.8 aperture creates a dreamy, shallow depth of field, isolating the subject. Shutter speed at 1/180 maintains the fluidity of a passerby's umbrella. This combo brings the scene to life.

A passerby with an umbrella adds narrative, becoming a prop of mystery.  It's more than a rainy day; it's a suspended moment, echoing classic photographers.
